Abstract(in English) | Optical fibers are usually produced by drawing from cylindrical glass rods, called optical fiber performs in which the physical structures are preliminary constructed required as wave guides. It is important, therefore, in the fiber industry to exam the structure in the performs for quality control and fiber development research. The authors have previously proposed a various types of measurement techniquse each optimized for various types of fabrication method. However, in recent years, performs have been fabricated with various techniques in mixing in order to optimize the cost and quality. This requires an intelligent technique for choosing best matched technique for each different type of fabrication methods. In this report, we discuss about the new idea of the preform index profile measurement. |
