Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The finite element method (FEM) with anisotropic perfectly matched layer (PML) is applied to analyzing transmission properties of photonic crystal fibers (PCFs). Using a vector FEM (VFEM), the wavelength dependence and the structural dependence of confinement losses in holey fibers (HFs) are investigated. Furthermore, the real-model simulation results for confinement losses are compared to the earlier experimental results and the polarization-dependent confinement losses in actual HF structures are numerically demonstrated.
