Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Hearing impairment is often associated with damage to the hair cells in the cochlea. Complete loss of inner hair cells over a certain region of the cochlea is usually called a "dead region". It is difficult to diagnose the dead region taking into account audiogram only. A method, which measures PTCs by means of a narrow noise band whose central frequency changes gradually over a certain region, is proposed in this paper. The method is fast and is it almost as accurate as conventional PTC measurement. |
