Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates by laboratory experiments the effect of inter-cell site diversity for adaptive antenna array transmit diversity (AAA-TD) in the forward link The experimental results elucidate the fast convergence performance of transmitter antenna weights, which are generated based on the receiver antenna weights in the reverese link, by increasing the target E_b/I_O value of the original cell site in fast transmission power control (TPC) at the beginning of soft handover, and then the transmission power of the soft-handover base transciver stations (BTSs) is reduced by approximately 1 dB. We also clarified that when the site deversity between 2 cell sites with maximum ratio combining(MRC) was conducted, the required total average transmit E_b/N_O employing AAA-TD at the average block error rate (BLER) of 10^<-2> is reduced by approximately 1 dB compared to 1-cell site connection, assuming 2-path Rayleigh fading with the maximum Doppler frequency of f_D = 80 Hz and average pass loss difference between 2 BTSs and a user equipment of △_<12> = 0 dB.
