Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, self-reconfigurable devices have been proposed as an extension of PLDs. However, since these self-reconfigurable devices are LUT-array-based fine-grain devices, its flexibility is spoiled by overhead for reconfiguration time to load large amount of configuration data. Although it is strongly desired to improve device architecture, optimization of various key parameters such as operation granularity and communication granularity is difficult. In this paper, we propose a design exploration platform for self-reconfigurable devices, especially for evaluating operation granularity and communication granularity. This platform provides users the model of self-reconfigurable devices which has parameterized-length datapathes and operation units. Given specific parameters such as granularity and descriptions of application circuits, it enables us to evaluate various device architecture for applications.
