Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A gradiometric device where two orthogonal low-Tc SQUID gradiometers are integrated on a substrate has been fabricated. Not only the pickup coils but also the SQUIDs are in a gradiometric configuration. We applied a magnetic field stronger than 1mT (20 times the geomagnetic field) to the gradiometric SQUID after it had been cooled in zero-field. Although the critical current was reduced, the level of intrinsic noise remained the same as just after the cooling, in spite of the parallel-type gradiometric configuration. The basic parameters of the gradiometric device (the gradiometric balance, the cross-talk ratio, and the intrinsic noise) indicate the feasibility of its application in the estimation of current vectors in unshielded and lightly shielded environments.
