Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The amount of digital contents is rapidly increasing on the network due to the advancement of the Internet. However, there are several problems on the current contents delivery network, such as the duplicate servers maintenance and the QoS (Quality of Service) issues, and it is believed that there will be a limitation on the global transfer of large -size contents. In order to solve these problems, we propose the optical contents delivery networks (optical CDN), which make use of the advantage of both the IP network and the optical network. We also studied the path selection method and the architecture of the optical hybrid router to realize the optical CDN. By performing the classification mechanism of the on -demand traffic and the streaming traffic at the ingress router, we found that it is possible to use the network bandwidth more efficiently and to transfer the stored data between end users with the desired QoS requirements.
