Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As a low-cost light source for CWDM access networks, we developed an uncooled coaxial fiber-Bragg-grating external-cavity semiconductor Laser (FGL). To realize high wavelength stability under uncooled condition, an FGL structure was adopted, and to reduce a cost of light source itself, a coaxial pigtail module structure was selected. High wavelength stabilities of 11.7pm/K and 1.3pm/mA against ambient temperature and current variation were realized. Good transmission characteristics up to 1.25Gbps were obtained using the FGLs. In addition, successive 8-channel wavelength multiplexing with 200 GHz spacing and with almost the same peak power was realized between. 30℃ to 70℃. For all channels, high wavelength stabilities of around 12 pm/K were realized.
