Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Microstrip antenna elements radiate efficiently as devices on microstorip printed-circuit boads. The most commonly used microstrip element is the quarter-wave rectangular element. It consists of a photoeched element in which the length L is about a quarter wavelength in the substrate material. For a quarter-wavelength element that is a half wavelength wide the radiation resistance and input impedance are 240 phms. This is very high if a 50-Ω coaxial connector were directly connected to the edge of the element. Therefore, the feed point is inset a distance Lf from the edge. In this paper, it is distance on the relations of the short-circuit width Ws of edge Lf and the frequency whose the input impedance can be matched to 50- Ω, and radiation patterns.
