Abstract(in English) The ESD (ElectroStatic Discharge) testing is becoming an essential item to immunity test of electronic and information equipment. As a tool for taking effective ESD countermeasure in the early design stage of electronic products, the authors previously developed a finite-difference time-domain(FDTD) modeling for the contact discharge with an ESD gun prescried in the IEC61000-4-2 standard, while its effectiveness was not well validated from lackof the frequency characteristics of the Pellegrini calibration target being recommended by the IEC. In this paper, the discharge current injected by the contact discharge to a 50Ω SMA connector was simurated, and compared with the mesured result in order to obtain the unknown value of a series inductance inserted for controlling the current rise-time. Then the magnetic near-fields caused by the contact discharge to the SMA and the ground plane were simulated, and the resultant outputs of a magnetic probe were calculated. As a result, it was found that the calculatedresults for the both contact discharge approximately agree with the meshuredresults, which demonstrates the vability of the prped FDTD modeling.
