Abstract(in English) | In order to improve error rate performance in perpendicular magnetic recording, a simuration with a software channel was carried out using a synthesized readback waveform. An isolated pulse wasgenerated by convolution of a magnetization transition represented by an error function and a sensitivity function of shielded MR head. Transition parameter was determined to give the best fitting with measurements. Then, a series of random bit pattern was created by superposition. Waveform parameters, pulse wideth, transition jitter, and white gauss noise was set, and error rate was measured using software channel to know influence of the parameters. As a result, transition jitter is the most dominant factor to restrict the error rate in perpendicular magnetic recording. |
