Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We are living in a world full of sounds. In few situations, there exists only talker's speech sound in conversation. However, we are rarely paying attention on such sound backgrounds and are able to communicate without difficulty. "Auditory Scene Analysis" provides an important framework to understand such human capabilities. This article tries to introduce illustrative examples of such functions and discussions on sometimes apparently contradicting relation with speech perception. |
