Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Previous studies have reported that emotional valence of visual stimuli modulate processing of the stimuli. For example, there are studies that found that threat-relevant stimuli were detected more rapidly than neutral stimuli. In this study, in order to examine whether emotionally charged pictures could capture attention threatening, pleasant, and neutral photographs were presented at three SOAs (300, 500, and 1000ms) in a dot probe task. The results suggested that unlike the results of previous studies the tendency to orient attention toward threat-relevant stimuli was inhibited at the SOA of 1000ms.
