Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) SPARCS (Simple-structure and high-Performance ATC by Radio Communication System) that we have been developing is a train control system with radio ranging technology, uses radios, which can measure distance between 2 radios by measuring delay of radio wave. Placing them on a train and along trackside, we can detect train position. At the same time, they can communicate between train and trackside using only radio frequency. SPARCS can control maximum 20 trains in one control zone. It gives us smaller ATC system compare than conventional systems. This paper introduces overview of SPARCS and field test for it.
