Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates impact of quantization in Rake receiver for direct-sequence ultra-wideband(DS-UWB) system in multipath channel. In DS-UWB communication for high-rate data transmission, inter-pulse interference(IPI) is unavoidable because pulse repetition frequency generally becomes higher. Therefore, combining paths influenced by IPI degrades the performance of reception, and partial Rake (PRake) reception which combines less influenced paths shows better performance. In this paper, impact of quantization at the path selection and combining weight in the Rake reception is evaluated through computer simulation. Simulation results show that almost the same performance as in ideal Rake reception can be obtained by using when the quantization level is more than 32.
