Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Applications for helix TWTs with wide band characteristics are varied. And the studies of more wide band TWTs have been performed. Ultra-wide band TWTs are in use for ECM(Electronic Counter Measure) systems, or applications of EMC(Electromagnetic Compatibility) tests. In addition, the TWTs are used in earth stations for satellite communications. NEMT(NEC Microwave Tube, Ltd.) has developed TWTs with metal-segment loaded and with vane loaded helix circuit by metal coating of helix support rods. Ultra wide band TWT with 700W output power in C to Ku band frequency ranges was designed based on the development results. This paper describes these studies for ultra-wide band TWT.
