| Abstract(in English) | In this paper we propose a method of tracking two-dimensional motion of human arms from timesequence images taken by a single video camera. For this purpose we utilize both color and motion information. In recognizing the positions of arms in the first frame, we use color information of a specific human model. The model consists of color histogram of skin and clothes as well as the sizes of body, head, arms, and hands of a particular person. The positions of arms are identified by using Color Indexing proposed by Swain and Ballard. In tracking We apply color indexing and configuration space, whose parameters are articular angles, in order to restrict the search area of template matching. In this way tracking becomes more efficient and robust, even in a complex background, as shown in the experimental results. |
