Derivation of invariant from hyperquadrics and shape recognition

Abstract(in English) The function fitting methods to 3D data points or 2D edge data points have extensively investigated for shape description and recognition. We have proposed the extended hyperquadrics for an efficient shape description. In this article, we present a new method for the derivation of invariants under translation and rotation from the extended hyperquadrics. The proposed method is based on the algebraic function approximation of the extended hyperquadrics. The shape recognition experiments using the derivated invariants are presented with real 2D map data.
