Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, the line speed of a router is getting faster and faster by evolution of optical technology. On the other hand, many people demand new services like SLA over TCP/IP networks. In order to provide such a service, it is necessary to use Qos/Cos control over a router. To guarantee the bandwidth or the maximum delay time for some IP flow over a router, the queueing methods like WFQ are generally used. Although the queueing method like WFQ can guarantee the bandwidth and the maximum delay time, it takes high processor load so that it is inappropriate for high speed lines. This paper describes the new QoS/CoS control method, VWRR, for high speed network.
