| Abstract(in English) | This report describes basic concepts of media synchronization, the present status of the synchronization techniques and the trend of its research, focusing on QoS non-guaranteed networks. Basic terminology and three fundamental functions for media synchronization control are defined, and the principle of the control is explained. Then, media multiplexing schemes are introduced in the context of media synchronization, and synchronization algorithms are classified. We also provide a brief description of the VTR algorithm and the RVTR scheme for media synchronization protocols. Finally, the media synchronization problem in mobile communications is discussed. |
