Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To accommodate increasing IP packets, the ring networks based on Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology are being studied extensively. In this paper, we describe a ring network architecture and classify it into point-to-point connection type and shared media connection type from a layer two functional point of view. For the former, we study a lightwave path allocation method that be considered the IP traffic. For the latter, we propose a wavelength allocation method that be considered the effective wavelength resources using Genetic Algorithm. Lastly, we show an effectiveness of our proposed method through simulation experiments.
