Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Female and male human body forms of various ages have been measured by the research institne of human engineering for quality life (HQL) by the non-contact optical mesurement equipment. These huge number of human body data can be expected to apply to various industrial fields, especially product desgin, as well as the ergonimics infomation. The human body data provided by HQL were described as points constructing contours which correspond to body cross sections. This paper describes how to construct polygonal human body model from these data. Several pre-processings which manupulate lists representing the points and dynamic programming were performed to construct the initial polygonal model. Consequently, it was confirmed that visual quality of the constructed human body model is enough when 90% of number of polygons were reduced after simplification.
