Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Particle system describing interactions among elements has been proposed to simulate dynamic clothes deformation. The Particle system shows instability of numerical computation due to mechanical properties of fabrics, which are largely bend, however, are not elongate so much. It is a popular technique to set very short time step to avoid the numerical instability, however it increases computational costs. This paper proposes a particle arrangement method to reduce the computational costs by using clothes shape construction based on geometric constraints. Proposed method enables us to control clothes shape easily by adjusting geometric parameters as well as the cloth mechanical properties, and will be available for 3-D interactive apparel design systems.
