Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is important for the advanced full-text information retrieval system or the examplebased MT system to recognize the semantic similarity of the linguistic expressions, i.e. sentences, phrases. We present in this paper, a new framework for the computer recognition of the semantic similarity of expressions of natural languages, which is based on their dependency structures. It is also characterized by the fact that not only the similarity of conceptual words but also the similarity of functional expressions play important roles in it.
