Abstract(in English) WDM ring network configured using optical ADM nodes have been designed systematically from the view point of OSNR degradation. The maximum distance for error free transmission was found to be a strong function of the distance between nodes and the amplifier gain variation. We have performed OADM node transmission using a system test bed, and demonstrated less than 0.3dB power penalty.
