A Study on Sound Image Reproduction with Multi-channel Transaural System

Abstract(in English) It is known that accuracy of sound image reproduction depends on the number of loudspeakers in multi-channel transaural system. This paper describes the introduction of system evaluation value of the loudspeaker arrangement, the accuracy and the results of directional auditory tests in order to study the arrangement whitch is suitable for sound image reproduction. We suggested that three of twelve arrangement types were desirable. Furthermore, it was verified that there was a strong correlation between the evaluation value and the accuracy from the test result.
