Quantization function from an Integrate-and-Fire Neuron Model

Abstract(in English) We consider an Integrate-and Fire neuron Model (ab. IFM) with two periodic inputs. The IFM outputs various firing pulse-trains including chaotic ones. The pulse-train can be analyzed by one dimensional return map. The first input determines the basic figure of the return map. The second input is high frequency periodic impulse sequence that is synchronized with the first one. Applying the second input, the state of the return map is quantized and the IFM outputs various stable periodic pulse-trains. The quantized return map can be transformed into an integer map. The integer map can be analyzed precisely and speedily. First, we analyze the case of a constant second input. Next, we apply the second input and analyze the numbers of the periodic pulse-trains and their maximum periods.
