Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents the field experimental results on feedback type transmit diversity in W-CDMA forward link. Let W_1=A_1e^ and W_2=A_2e^ be the complex antenna weights of 2-antenna, we investigated the BER performance of the following 3-mode; (1) Mode1 : φ_1-φ_2={π/4,3π/4,5π/4,7π/4}, A_1=A_2=1, (2) Mode2 : φ_1=0, φ_2={0,π}, A_1=A_2=1, (3) Mode3 : A_1, A_2={0,1} φ_1, φ_2=0. The results showed that when there was no feedback information (FBI) bit error, the required total average transmit E_b/N_0 of the Mode 1, 2, 3 for obtaining the average BER of 10^<-3> can be decreased by about 0.5-2.0 dB and 1.0-2.5 compared to 1-antenna transmitter with/without antenna diversity reception. However, when the fast transmit power control was applied in reverse link, no gain from the 1-antenna transmit case was obtained for 3 modes due to the errors of FBI command bits and of the transmit antenna verification.
