Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents the experimental results on the target cell search time performance during active mode using 3-step cell search method with primary and secondary search channels (PSC, SSC) in W-CDMA mobile radio. Field experiments was conducted in 3 sectors ; mobile station (MS) connecting to the one sector searched the target sector from the other two sectors. Field experimental results showed that the cell search time at the detection probability of 90% is below 1.5 sec (600 msec) when the path loss of the target 2 sector candidates were 3 and 6 dB lower than the original sector and the transmit power ratio of common pilot channel (CPICH) to DTCH was 0 (3) dB with the average received E_b/N_0 for DTCH above 7 (4) dB at the average vehicular speed of 30 km/h.
