Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents the laboratory experimental results of our developed multistage interference canceller (MPIC) for W-CDMA. As one of the wireless access schemes for next generation mobile radio, W-CDMA can accommodate variable transmit rate channels flexibly. However, large interference from high rate channels such as digital video decreases capacity of other lower rate channels significantly. MPIC, which we proposed previously, can improve capacity of low rate channels by suppressing interference from high rate channels with priority. In MPIC, the accuracy of interference estimation is improved by using a hybrid decision technique, and good performance with one stage scheme is obtained. Experimental results show that one stage MPIC improves the capacity of low late channels by a factor of 1.3.
