Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Adaptive array and pre-demodulation combining diversity system have the same structure. Therefore adaptive array can also get spatial diversity effect if received signals in each antenna elements have low correlation. However, in this spacing, received signals have high correlation at a base station, so we cannot get the spatial diversity effect. In this paper, we show that, at a base station, the adaptive array antenna with wide element spacing has better bit error rate performance due to spatial diversity effect than the one with narrow element spacing under co-channel interference and multi-path fading In TDD system, weighting factors that are determined for signal reception in the up-link can be used for the down-link transmission, because of the reciprocity in this system. An adaptive array placed only at a base station improves transmission performance in both the up-link and down-link.
