Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In broadband mobile communications, inter-symbol interference is one of the major problems to overcome. Adaptive equalizers have been considered effective in solving the problem. This paper proposes an adaptive equalizer utilizing the concepts of metric combining space and time-diversity. The proposed equalizer was prototyped for a real time operation at a transmission bitrate of 24Mbps. The prototyped equalizer has 2-branch space and 2-branch time-diversity capabilities, thereby 4-branch diversity in total. Experimental results show that the prototyped equalizer achieves almost the same performances as obtained through computer simulations.
