Abstract(in English) | The contribution of fiber amplifiers to nonlinear cross talk in WDM systems is usually neglected due to the much shorter fiber length compared with the transmission fiber. In this paper we show the nonlinear effect in tellurite EDFA and raman amplifiers, whose very wide gain bandwidth is quite attractive for massive WDM systems, is quite large due to their high nonlinear indices. This result indicates that the role of these amplifiers in the generation of optical nonlinearities should be carefully taken into account, if the use of them is going to be considered in future communications systems. |
