Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) is one of the effective candidates for accommodating the future huge increase of data traffic bandwidth in the cost-effective and scaleable manner. In this study, a scaleable configuration for OTDM multiplexer (MUX) and demultiplexer (DEMUX) modules is studied by fabricating reflective MUX and transmissive DEMUX modules operated at 40Gb/s. The upgraded operation to 80Gb/s is realized by paralleling two pairs of MUX and DEMUX modules with couplers and its error-free MUX/DEMUX operation at tributary 10Gb/s level is confirmed by experiment.
