Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Long period optical fiber gratings are promised to use gain equalizers for EDFA in WDM systems. We studied the thermal decay property of UV-induced index change in LPG's for reliable study. We analyzed the change of center wavelength and peak transmission. And both optical characteristics show identical decay properties by assuming the mode coupling coefficient. By this analysis, the decay of UV-Index indicates the simple power law decay at the temperature range from 60 to 150℃, which is similar to the FBG for WDM-filters. Then we present the dependence of decay properties by Hydrogen UV-sensitization treatment and core glass compositions.
