Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the purpose of grasping the fundamental characteristics of the radio-on-fiber communication technology, experimental equipment which can modulate a radio frequency signal up to about 8GHz was constructed, and a transmission experiment of 2.4GHz wireless LAN was performed. The radio-to-optic conversion part utilizes three types of modulators ; a direct modulation of LD and external modulations using a LiNbO_3 modulator and an electroabsorption modulator. The modulator characteristics were compared with respect to input power and BER. As a frequency multiplexing method, the characteristics of the hybrid modulation using the direct modulation of LD and the external modulation using the LiNbO_3 modulator were shown.
