Abstract(in English) 10Gb/s×20 WDM transmission using single mode fibers for medium transmission length and relatively long span length is experimentally studied considering the optical network of electric power companies. In this experiment, the transmission equipment that are commercially available are used. In the repeaterless transmission experiment, error free transmission was achieved in both cases of 120-km SMF transmission without dispersion compensation and 180-km transmission using dispersion compensation fibers. In the repeatered case, experiments of 80km × 5 spans and 120km × 3 spans are carried out and error free states are confirmed in all channels by adequately adjusting the total dispersion of the transmission lines.
