Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Supercontinuum (SC) pulse generation in a singlemode optical fiber and its applications in large capacity communications are described. Firstly, we reveal the mechanism of SC pulse generation in decreasing dispersion fiber with convex dispersion profile. Noise mechanism im SC generation is also investigated theoretically and experimentally. Finally, the applications of SC light source are introduced for large capacity transmission over one terabit per second as well as for sub-picosecond optical pulse source with wavelength tunability. |
