Abstract(in English) | A multicast network using hierarchical ring network is proposed as a future communication network. Assuming the burst traffic, we calculated the relative costs of link and interfaces in the node between the conventional point-to-point network and the proposed network. The calculation results show the proposed network is suitable for effective transmission of the burst traffic because of the statistical multiplexing. Furthermore, using the WDM technology, the proposed network is used the WDM hybrid network act as both the multicast network for multicast packet and the shared link network for unicast packet. |
