Abstract(in English) | This paper presents new transfer schemes for block traffic over ATM networks. Their purpose is to keep the transmission time of each connection within the order of a second. Moreover, they will try to keep high utilization of the network and a low cell loss probability. Proposed schemes realize those by taking account the general characteristics of client/server traffic. We evaluate via simulations the performance of these schemes in terms of network utilization, cell loss ratio, and transmission time. The simulation results show that these schemes provide effective means of supporting block traffic. |
