Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a new information searching method, called Adaptive Browser, which can minimize searching cost considering human capability in information searching and network throughput. In adaptive browser, request packets are issued and retrieved informations are displayed to the retriever until the target information is found. The number of request packets is controlled considering network throughput and capability of retriver. At first, we obtain the characteristics concerning time required to find target information shown in a display. Second, the optimum number of requests packets is obtained considering human characteristics and network delay. It is shown that the Adaptive Browser decrease the average cost to find the target information.
