Abstract(in English) This paper presents an implementation of an advanced telepathology application. Proposed system allows for real-time control of a microscope and capturing digital images sequentially through the network. Both controlling the microscope stage and image capturing are executed between a server and a client using TCP/IP sockets over 100Mbps network resources. We made it possible to change image resolution interactively for the client in order to realize real-time remote operation of the microscope so that the user can search for the ROI (Region of Interests) with higher frame rate using lower resolution images and observe and store the sample images with higher resolution. This feature is provided with a digital camera adapted to "Fire Wire", IEEE1394 standard interface, which is capable of capturing images in high frame rate and switching image resolution in hardware level. Monitoring 160×120 resolution images at 24.3[fps] and switching the resolution to 320×240 or 640×480 are achieved while controlling the microscope stage quickly through the network.
