Time-varying Behavior of the Relationship between HRV and Muscle Activity during Exercise for a Day

Abstract(in English) We have studied the time-varying behavior of the functional activities during exercise using electrocardiogram (ECG) and electromyogram (EMG). High frequency components and low frequency components were extracted from HRV. Mean power frequency (MPF) and averaged reflected value (ARV) were estimated from EMG. Then, the ratio of low to high frequency components (LF/HF) and the correlation coefficient between ARV and MPF were plotted on a scatter graph. The results showed that the decreasing correlation coefficient was probably caused by decrease in the LF/HF with progression of trials during afternoon exercise for a day.
