Abstract(in English) 'Science' in the curriculum of senior high schools contains Subject 'Earth Science IB', which has Field 'The Earth's Interior' in it. The study of this Field centers around the structure of the earth's interior, the substances in it and the conditions of the substances. It is comparatively easy for students to study the surface of the earth as they are able to obtain specimens. But the earth's interior is rather difficult for them to study. In case of the study of the earth's interior it is desirable to make full use of such research methods as collecting various pieces of information sent from the earth's interior, retrieving them, measuring them and treating the findings. In reality in lots of classes these research methods are not adopted, but already known facts are taught to students and students are obliged to memorize them. We have developed teaching methods to investigate the earth's interior, particularly the thickness of the earth crust, the substances in the upper part of the mantle and their conditions by analyzing the information of seismic waves which actually occurred, using computers. We report the results of our research and development as follows.
