Development of Learning Environment for Programming Using the Software of Linux Environment

Abstract(in English) Authors take charge of the education of FORTRAN programming to the students who learnt C programming language by concentrated lecture of the university. In this programming education, we teach the students of Department of Engineering by using an electronic textbook. This electronic textbook is made with Applixware which is integrated application software of the Linux environment. A characteristic of the electronic textbook is correspondence between the exercise program of FORTRAN and C programming languages. In this paper, We describe the evaluation of learning environment and the class in which the electronic textbook was used.
