Packet loss detection for realtime data transfer protocol based on retransmission

Abstract(in English) We are investigating realtime data transfer with error control by retransmission. We have proposed high quality realtime data transfer protocol R^3TP (Retransmission-based Reli1able Realtime data Transfer Protocol) which is based upon packet-loss detection and data-block retransmission. In this article, we have compared three schemes for packet-loss detection using ACK, NAK, and information of ATM network (RM cell), and report that simulation results have revealed packet-loss detection scheme using RM cell is much faster and more accurate than the other two schemes.
