Analiysis for the Asymptotic Coefficient of Tail Distribution of Queue Length

Abstract(in English) For realizing multimedia communication in ATM Network, cell loss probability from 10^<-9> to 10^<-12> needs to satisfy quality of transmission. Analiysis for Large Deviation Theory (LDT) can approximate the probability that the queue length Q is greater than q. Using the decay rate θ^* obtained by solving a simple equation, we have the approximation of the form P(Q>q)≈e^<-θ^*q>. To improve the accuracy of the approximation, we derive an upper bound in the form of P(Q>q)<__-c(q)e^<-θ^*q>, where we call c(q) asymptotic coefficient. Using a basic recursive equation of queue length and twisted distribution, we derive an upper bound of level crossing probability for M/D/1 and MMPP/D/1. We show that these results are efficient for the computational complexity and accuracy in approximation.
