Determination of Parameters of Active Contour Models

Abstract(in English) Active contour models are effective in contour extraction. One difficulty with models the technologies is that much work is needed for reliable parameter acquisition, which is conventionally done by trial-and-error methods. This paper introduces reinforcement learning to determine parameters for specific applications. By modifying the learning stream, our system overcomes a drawback exisiting in the reinforcement learning method that it was not robust. Exploration time is shortened by adding heuristic rules. Experimental results show that our systems work effectively.
