Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We describe our newly developed locomotion interface system, called the GSS (Ground Surface Simulator). Also we propose a novel communication environment that provides a function to transmit a non-verbal information and to share a bodily sensation between distant places. The GSS system is a locomotion device that provides a function of the ground surface simulation with an active trcadmill. The system can give a bodily sensation to users. In this paper, we propose a communication environment by using the GSS system. This novel commucation environment can transmit anon-verbal information that is subsequently with the locomotion, such like a feeling of the distance and a feeling of the area. These non-verbal informations can give a bodily sensation to user, and can be transfered to distant place by network. Thus, our proposed communication environment provides the function to share the bodily sensation between the distant places.
