Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An introduction of Quality of Service (QoS) guarantee into the Internet has been recently studied, which enables easier real-time transmission of videos over the Internet. Actually, however, it is considered to be impossible to reserve all the required bandwidths for many users. We then pro-pose a real-time transmission technique for MPEG videos over two kinds of network, i.e., a partially guaranteed network and the conventional best-effort network. This paper dicusses a data partitioning algorism for MPEG videos which makes a bitstream sent over the guaranteed network as high as possible. Experimental results have illustrated userfulness of the proposed approach.
